Easy loading, precision processing.
Process round or rectangular bales of dry material to a consistent length from 8mm to 120mm, depending on mill screen size. Output up to 4 t/hr. with uniform chop length for optimal nutrition and bedding.
Key Benefits:
Bales of dry material (<20% moisture) are milled to a precise length by 40 blades (20 hammer option also available), with chop length controlled by a hardox screen.
Hardox Screens are interchangable, with hole diameters from 8mm - 120mm.
The hydraulically angled feed slide allows constant material feed at up to 4000kg/hr.
Chutes on left and right hand sides can be open or shut independently. Various chutes are available for special applications. See Options.
All models in the Tomahawk 500 series are now compatible with both Cat. II and Cat. III tractor linkages.
A brush seal kit is fitted as standard for material containment.
A wide angle PTO is supplied as standard, with friction clutch overload protection. Optional 8 or 21 spline versions available.
For fine control of the drum rotation speed and output, a hydraulic flow divider is supplied as standard with the 500FSM.
The feed slide can be operated horizontal for easy loading from ground level, or inclined with bales dropped onto the slide.
For connection to 180mm (6") hose. Available for models with lower chute output.
The liquid spray kit can be fitted to any model in the 400 - 500 Tomahawk range to reduce dust from milled straw, or to enable the application of anti-bacterial products to bedding.

The radio remote control allows you to remotely trigger mulching while using the hose. Includes: drum speed regulator, power cable, distributor unit, and radio remote control.

Straw is a very useful feed if prepared in the right way.
For either group the key to feeding straw is incorporation to create a homogenous mix. Poorly processed straw will not blend which can encourage cows to sort the ration, making the problem worse rather than better. The straw should be pre-processed, and we find milled straw to provide the best results.
